Jan-Dirk Monden is an internist and anthroposophical doctor who trained in Germany, the USA and Switzerland. He was born in 1977 and comes from Oldenburg in Oldb., Germany. Towards the end of his studies in human medicine at the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel, DE, he became acquainted with anthroposophic medicine in Richterswil near Zurich. He was so enthusiastic about it that he studied it in depth parallel to his specialist training in internal medicine and trained in it. He holds a certificate of competence in anthroposophically extended medicine, CH, and a diploma in eurythmy therapy for doctors. His main specialist activity to date has been as a senior physician at the original clinic of anthroposophic medicine, the Arlesheim Clinic in Arlesheim, CH. There he was particularly involved in the training and further education of the clinic's resident and specialists in specialist internal medicine and in-depth anthroposophic medicine. He works intensively in the field of ultrasound diagnostics and provides training in this area. In addition to his inpatient work at the clinic, he set up an outpatient, anthroposophic-internistic consultation service with a focus on rheumatology with a focus on rheumatology. He always works with the multimodal approach of anthroposophic medicine, which incorporates various forms of therapy, from external applications to art therapies and eurythmy therapy. The promotion and further development of anthroposophic medicine is important to him. Since May 2023, he has been working as an internist and anthroposophical doctor in his own practice in Arlesheim. In addition to eurythmy therapy, he has a special interest in metal color light therapy, as this has proven to be particularly effective for patients with rheumatological diseases. Since 07/2024, after a long start-up phase, he has therefore been working as a research assistant and project manager on the project “Basic research into the qualities of metal color light” at the Natural Science Section of the School of Spiritual Science at the Goetheanum. He lives with his family in Dornach, CH, is married and has two sons.
